"Thanks a lot Hong Kong Tanahunwasi, 'TANAHUN - An Introduction' is a great work" said Mr. Hari Singh Gurung, Chairman of Tanahun Tourism Development Committee, in an occasion. It has been a proud moment for the people of Tanahun and Tanahun Community Hong Kong when Adiwasi Janjati Mahasangh Damauli anounced that they will be hosting the documentary show all over Damauli, Pokhara, Kathmandu, Chitwan and whereever possible including 46 VDCs to raise money as well as awareness. The raised money will be deposited in a joint account of Adiwasi Janjati Mahasangh and Tanahun Community Hong Kong, which will be used for community welfare.
After accomplishing a great successful show in Hong Kong, the documentary has reached in Nepal where everyone now appreciating it. Mr. Bhim Tamu was warmly welcomed by many there when he left for Damauli from Hong Kong with DVD of this documentary. Tanahun Adiwasi Janjati Mahasangh who is in charge of handling this project, arranged a meeting in Damauli where 35 participants from Tanahun Chamber of Commerce, NEFIN DCC Tanahun, NGO Network and Federation, Media represntatives, Tanahun Samparka Samaj Pokhara, Tanahun Tourism Development Committee, Nepal Magar Sangh, Tamu Hyula Chhonj Dhin, Tamang Ghedung, Darai Samaj Tanahun and of course Tanahun Community HK participated.
The meeting formed 51 members of working committee to meet the goals and objectives of the documentary. Mr. Shankar Narayan Shrestha, Chairperson of NEFIN DCC Tanahun has been nominated as a Co-ordinator, Mr. Shankar Lal Rajbhandari, Chairperson of TCCI Tanahun is Joint-Coordinator, Mr. Hari Singh Gurung, Chairperson of Tanahun Tourism Development Committee is the Secretary, Mr. Bhim Gurung, Chairperson of Tanahun Samparka Samaj Pokhara is Treasurer and other 47 members were also nominated from different organizations as committee members. Members of Political parties are in advisory committee.
"We, Tanahun Samparka Samaj Pokhara are very very happy and we would like to congratulate the Hong Kong team for producing such wonderful and informative documentary" said Bhim Gurung, Chairman of Tanahun Samparka Samaj Pokhara.
The formed committee arranged and held the premier show in Damauli on 2066/06/23. Mr. Bhim Tamu (from Hong Kong), Mr. Shanker Narayan Shrestha (Chairman - Aadibasi Janajati Mahasangh Tanahun), Mr. Govinda Raj Joshi (former minister), Ms. Parbati Rana (member of Constitution Assembly), Shanker Rajbhandari (Chairman of Tanahun Chamber of Commerce), Mr. Hari Shing Gurung (Chairman - Tanahun Tourism Development Committee), Mr. Bhim Gurung (Chairman - Tanahun Samparka Samaj Pokhara) and more than 200 Tanahun people were present at the show.
All the expenses for the meeting and premier show was sponsored by Tanahun Chamber of Commerce and Tanahun Adiwasi Janjati Mahasangh. The newly formed committe have assured Tanahun Community Hong Kong that they will execute the programme soon after Tihar in full swing. "All the possible assistance and help will be provided from Hong Kong" Mr. Yam Bahadur Thapa (Chairman of Tanahun Community Hong Kong) has said.
Shyam Sunder Thapa, who traveled all over Tanahun and all its VDCs to cover footage for this documentary, Bhim Tamu (Yem) who brought the concept and arranged everything, the backbone and responsible members of the team Yam Bahadur Thapa, Lal Bahadur Thapa, Subit Gurung, Kush Thapa, Pitamber Gurung, Lil Gurung and Surya Gurung, without whom this documentary wouldn't have taken its shape.
There is a saying "anything you do with a good intention has a good result". It is hoped the documentary will fulfill its objectives to reach every Tanahun resident and all Nepalese.
